Because ANYBODY that drinks and drives is a POS and should be forced to wear a scarlet letter. Next time it could be one of us or our childern that get hurt or killed because of someone who does this.

Horrible situation either way and kicking a mother when she is down is not going to bring that little girl back. I daresay that there are many people that read these threads that drink and drive, or drive too fast or any number of things that can cause a wreck. Maybe you don't have a little girl in the car with you, but I might meet you on the road and I do. We all do dumb things that seem like little things until they have horrible consequenses. I'm sure this mother will be punished so we don't need to do it here.

When I read this in the JP my heart sunk. It is so sad that the little girl died. It's a shame the woman would be so selfish as to drive with her children in the car while she was impaired. The ten year old is the one who paid the price to her motgrs wrongdoings. I hope she is punished for this. I couldn't imagine loosing a child but this woman more than less killed her own daughter. The fatality was the result of her actions and she should be held accountable.

ljohn, it sounds like the person that stated that must either work at the hospital, law enforcement, or, be close enough to the family to have that inside info.

What I was thinking as well, I was there and interacted with her and couldn't tell it, But then again adreneline is pumping and what not. But I'd say they checked all that at the hospital. Still reguardless its a tragic accident.

No Bussiness if she was not drunk or drinking then why did the paper report that she was charge with DUI. A DUI means that she was driving under the influence of some type of drug be it alcohol, dope or even medicine.

she blew around .24. 3 times over the limit.

An accident???? She CHOSE to get behind the wheel while intoxicated with the most precious cargo a mom could have. Someone who CHOOSES to do this with their precious children on board is a guided missile bound to find a target. Heartbreakingly it was her child...an innocent and trusting child.
