Tyson hires felons. Any job looks good when you go to court!

So I have a friend that has 4 pending felonies. The lawyer says he will probably get them all thrown out but he is having a hard time finding a job. The last job he applied for told him he had the job all the way up until they did a back ground check then told him they could not go further with employment due to something they found. This guy has no prior charges never been in trouble, doesnt even have a speeding ticket. Any words of advise I could give him?
