I can barely walk up a hill. If you do drive I suggest a heavy 4wd vehicle. Anything else needs to stay put for a while.

I had offers from people to drive me to work, but just like someone else said it's not risking my life or theirs for that fact. Sure I need to work but not that bad. Especially since all this winter weather stuff is suppose to continue through today.

DOT update. about 20 cars including police and DOT salt truck stuck on 268. Really ...just stay home. If the police can't get to you and the rescue people can't get to you....is it worth it?

We just got a call from a friend who said 268 was closed from Knotville Fire Department down toward Elkin. Don't know if its closed officially or if you just can't get through because of cars off the road.

My fiance is home now. He had to walk home cause he had to leave the car parked near the old kfc cause he couldn't get it to go up the hill due to ice.

Praying for your husband bubbles. My dad is a truck driver so I know how that is.

Wilkes Co. DOT was just on WXII 12 - Hwy 16 N is closed due to several accidents. They said 421 is still passable as of now - but highly suggested to stay at home.
